What to expect at your FIRST APPOINTMENT
I feel like I know everybody!”
We hear this from our patients all the time. From the time you call to schedule an appointment, the Tuttle Dental Care family’s top priority is to make you feel welcome and comfortable. When you arrive at our office, you’ll be welcomed by a member of our front office staff, and a dental assistant or hygienist will take you on a tour of our office. We provide these tours so there are no surprises. We won’t overload you with information, but we’ll make sure you have a basic understanding of our facilities and what you should expect.
After your tour, we’ll take x-rays and photos and discuss your history. Then you’ll meet the dentist, who will perform a comprehensive exam. That includes not just your teeth and gums, but your jaw, head and neck to make sure all structures are functional and balanced. If you have a specific condition or problem that brought you into the office, we’ll take care of it. Otherwise, we’ll give your teeth a thorough cleaning. If a follow-up appointment is needed, we’ll explain what needs to be done and why.
As a courtesy, we’ll give you an idea of what your out-of-pocket costs will be prior to your visit and submit your claim to the insurance company. We’ll also let you know if Tuttle Dental Care is out-of-network, although out-of-network and in-network benefits are often comparable.
Throughout the process – from your initial call to your examination to the time you walk out the door – we’ll be available to answer your questions and address your concerns. This is the first step in what we hope will be a long-term relationship.
