A True Family Practice

Dr. Timothy J. Tuttle launched Tuttle Dental Care in 1987 out of his family home. Growing up around dentistry her whole life, his daughter Caroline eventually followed his footsteps and is now the owner of the practice. They work together alongside Dr. Patel and their team to deliver a true family practice experience.

Meet Dr. Caroline Tuttle

“Family practice doesn’t mean a thing unless you actually treat people like family… and that’s what we’re passionate about doing with every person who trusts us with their care.”

Dr. Caroline grew up around dentistry. Her father, Dr. Tuttle, started his dental practice in their home when Dr. Caroline was a child, and she learned how to treat patients by watching him. She shares her father’s sense of humor and ability to keep things loose so patients always feel relaxed. She’s a big believer in open communication, always explaining what’s happening during each appointment to keep patients informed and at ease.

Although Dr. Caroline would occasionally help out at her father’s dental office from the time she was in eighth grade, she didn’t plan to be a dentist at that point. She just loved hanging out with her dad. Not only was he her first soccer coach, but she chose to attend Lafayette College to play Division 1 Soccer so that it was close enough for him to still watch every game.

After earning a B.S. degree in Psychology with a Minor in Economics, she worked in marketing for a few years prior to finding her true passion in dentistry. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, followed by her General Practice Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. After starting in private practice, Dr. Caroline also completed a 2 year Implant Maxicourse at NYU to become proficient in the placement and restoration of dental implants. After completing that coursework she became a fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Caroline also served on the New Jersey Board of the Academy of General Dentistry for 3 years prior to starting her family. Continuing Education is one of Dr. Caroline's favorite parts of being a dentist. She loves to learn all the ways to better herself and the patient experience.

Dr. Caroline's passion in dentistry surrounds Full Smile Transformations, such as Smile Makeovers and Dental Implant Supported Tooth Replacement Surgery and Restorations. She's utilized technology throughout her practice to ensure her patients are getting the best quality outcomes and experiences that dentistry has to offer today.

While Dr. C loves learning and implementing new techniques and technology into her practice, she also loves spending time with her beautiful family. They recently welcomed twins, a baby boy and girl, in the early fall of 2022. Becoming a mother is her greatest life event so far, and she is so thankful that she can share her love of dentistry with her family as her children get older, just like her father did with her at a young age.

Meet Dr. Shreena Patel

“It took me 11 years in private practice to finally find a place where I could serve that shared my values for really making a difference in people’s lives. Every day feels like home here and I think every patient has that same welcome-home experience.”

Since the age of 12, Dr. Patel wanted to be a dentist. She even worked as a dental assistant during high school. That experience fueled her passion to make a difference in people’s lives through dentistry.

Her quest to be a dentist began by graduating from The University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Biology. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. After dental school, she completed her General Practice Residency at University Hospital in Newark.

Dr. Patel finds great joy in helping patients overcome their fear of the dentist. Whether it was because of bad experiences as a child or because they have anxiety, she has a way of making patients feel comfortable and actually enjoy their visit.

She loves spending time with her three boys and her family. She also likes traveling to different countries, sampling different cuisines, and watching concerts, comedy shows, and Broadway plays.

Meet Dr. Kimberley Mahoney

"Dentistry has kept me interested and excited about the future since I was a kid. It's always changing, and I love applying new technologies and techniques to make treatment more comfortable and efficient for my patients."

DR. MAHONEY

Dr. Mahoney was born and raised in a small town in eastern Canada. Her interest in dentistry started from a young age, having listed “dentist” as her aspirational career in kindergarten.

Dr. Mahoney earned her B.S. in Neuroscience from Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada. She then went on to pursue her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Following dental school, Dr. Mahoney further honed her skills by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at NYU Langone in Brooklyn, New York.

Continuing education is a passion of Dr. Mahoney’s. She loves to keep up with the latest technologies and techniques to provide the best possible experience for her patients. She will be sure to clearly explain procedures to you and to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your treatment.

When she isn’t practicing dentistry, Dr. Mahoney can be found enjoying the outdoors with her family. She loves to hike, camp, golf and ski, and is so excited to share these experiences with her new baby boy.

Meet Dr. Timothy J. Tuttle

“I’ve had the pleasure of building relationships with great people over the years and eventually becoming their kids’ dentist. Seeing those families welcome Caroline with open arms and knowing those relationships will continue for many years is very rewarding.”

Dr. Tuttle

If you were to look up the stereotypical, scary dentist in the dictionary, you would find the exact opposite of Dr. Timothy J. Tuttle. Think of the senior Tuttle as the dentist next door – the person who will joke around with you but always look out for your well-being. Of course, this dentist next door also happens to have about 40 years of experience and uses the most advanced dental techniques, materials and technology available.

With a B.S. degree from Rutgers College, Dr. Tuttle didn’t decide to pursue dentistry until his senior year. After graduation, he continued taking science courses and taught physics and mathematics as an adjunct professor at a community college. The more he understood dentistry, the more he realized it would allow him to be a teacher and enjoy a career that blended science and art. He soon stopped teaching so he could focus on dental school and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

After spending years raising his three children and coaching their sports teams, Dr. Tuttle developed a passion for skiing. He travels to Vermont almost every weekend during the fall and winter months. When he needs a break from the snow, he enjoys spending time on the beaches of Sarasota, FL. He is also the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren.

Dr. Tuttle may not be chair-side as much as in his past years serving patients, as he has been found more often on the ski slopes of Vermont and spending time with his brand new twin grandchildren. Luckily the legacy he has left is in full effect at Tuttle Dental Care. He still comes in to mentor, and to check on patients and their families whom he has grown to love and care for his and their lifetime.
