MEET THE DOCTORS

Dr. TIMOTHY J. Tuttle

If you were to look up the stereotypical, scary dentist in the dictionary, you would find the exact opposite of Dr. Timothy J. Tuttle. Think of the senior Tuttle as the dentist next door – the person who will joke around with you but always look out for your well-being. Of course, this dentist next door also happens to have about 40 years of experience and uses the most advanced dental techniques, materials and technology available.

As a sociology major at Rutgers College, Dr. Tuttle didn’t decide to pursue dentistry until his senior year. After graduation, Dr. Tuttle continued taking science courses and taught physics and mathematics as an adjunct professor at a community college. The more he understood dentistry, the more he realized it would allow him to be a teacher and enjoy a career that blended science and art. He soon stopped teaching so he could focus on dental school and graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
After spending years raising his three children and coaching their sports teams, Dr. Tuttle developed a passion for skiing. He travels to Vermont almost every weekend during the fall and winter months. When he needs a break from the snow, Dr. Tuttle enjoys spending time on the beaches of Sarasota, FL.

“I’ve had the pleasure of building relationships with great people over the years and eventually becoming their kids’ dentist,” Dr. Tuttle said. “Seeing those families welcome Caroline with open arms and knowing those relationships will continue for many years is very rewarding.”

Dr. Caroline Tuttle

Dr. C grew up around dentistry. She always had a great relationship with her dad but didn’t decide to follow in his footsteps until after she graduated from college. Dr. C shares her father’s sense of humor and ability to keep things loose so patients always feel relaxed. She’s a big believer in open communication, always explaining what’s happening during each appointment to keep patients informed and at ease.
Although Dr. C would occasionally help out at her father’s dental office from the time she was in eighth grade, she didn’t plan to be a dentist at that point. She just loved hanging out with her dad. He was Dr. C’s first soccer coach, and one of the reasons why she chose to play soccer at Lafayette College was so her dad could watch her play.

After earning a degree in psychology and a minor in economics, Dr. C soon realized that she shared her father’s passion for dentistry. She graduated from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, but it wasn’t until she completed her residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick that Dr. C felt she was ready to join her father’s practice. The best part is, she gets to spend most of her days with her dad and best friend.

Free time is rare these days as Dr. C is always looking for new techniques and tools to bring back to Tuttle Dental Care, but she does still enjoy playing and watching soccer. She loves family time with her parents and brothers while skiing in Vermont, and she’s been known to toss an axe or two to blow off steam.
